Why This Recipe Works
Named after one of Myanmar's minority groups, these beans are distinguished by an infusion of ginger and aromatic peanut oil. This recipe builds on the Bagan Butter Bean foundation with extra aromatics.
Instructions
Follow the instructions for Bagan Butter Beans. When the onions in the recipe begin to soften, add the smashed garlic and minced ginger to the pot.
Cook the aromatics with the onions for a few minutes until fragrant before adding the beans and water as usual.
Just before serving, drizzle the aromatic peanut oil over the top and garnish with fresh green onions for a bright finish.
